Volcanic Technology Pty Ltd “Volcanic” ACN 613 134 820 take privacy seriously and are committed to complying with the required local law under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the best practices set out in the APP (Australian Privacy Principles).

Our parent company “Volcanic (UK) Limited” is governed by UK legislation covered in the Data Protection Act (1998).

What Personal Information does Volcanic collect?

Volcanic is an online recruitment software provider, providing Software as a service (SAAS) to the recruitment sector.

The types of personal information that we collect will depend on the nature of your dealings with us. For inquiries through the domain, we will hold information you provide us, typically;

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Contact reason and requirements

  • Time & date of your visit as well as any relevant meta data

For our clients who license the Volcanic platform then their underlying Client Data will be held on our hosting servers and infrastructure.  This is in a fully secure environment and subject to Volcanic’s stringent security policies.   

Volcanic uses AWS as a hosting provider, with servers in Dublin, Ireland and Sydney, Australia. Volcanic reserves the right to change its hosting arrangements and the locations and countries in which Client Data and related personal information is stored.

Data Privacy & Security

Within Volcanic, we have an appointed person who is responsible for Data Privacy Compliance. This is currently our CEO and Technical Director, Robert Wilde.

Our Privacy Policy governs the protection of personal data, including our client's personal data. Our management team approves the privacy policy and our employees are required to read and sign the policy. We conduct internal audits for Privacy and security practices and our employees are trained on data privacy requirements on an Annual basis.

There are regular privacy risk assessments conducted on our processing of personal data, which are conducted on a quarterly basis. As part of our commitment to our clients, we do not share any data with any third party, including affiliates and subcontractors.

As part of our service to our clients, we will provide privacy notices or consents to data subjects as and when this is requested. We have a documented process/system to monitor compliance with consent and withdrawal of consent. Volcanic track privacy laws globally and update our policies and procedures on a regular basis. These are updated annually or when changes apply

Privacy & Cookies

We use cookies to monitor licensed user sessions of Volcanic’s recruitment platform. Like most website providers, we may generate statistics about how many people visit our site and what they look at. We may use web logs, cookies and services such as Google Analytics to do this. This enables us to keep our site relevant and useful. However, generally this information will not identify you. To the extent that such information is personal information, it will be treated in accordance with this policy.

Most web browsers are set by default to accept cookies. However, if you do not wish to receive cookies you may set your browser to either prompt or refuse cookies.

Access and Correction

Under the Privacy Act, you have the right to seek access to your personal information handled by Volcanic. You also have the right to ask us to update or correct your personal information when it is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
